Famiglia

Saturday was a day for family. We traveled to Napa to have lunch with my aunts and my grampa. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed the weather outside in the backyard and ate to our hearts’ content. Being Italian always means get together center around food. Aaron and I brought appetizers: Chicken Satay Skewers, Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs and Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Crostini. Lunch included Macaroni salad, grilled chicken and pork tenderloin, roasted asparagus and totally yummy bread.

We brought Cash with us. He started off with a dip in my parent’s pond and the lots of visiting with family and the little dogs at my aunt’s house. We also tried out a new cocktail that is so delicious. We named it the Positano and it is fresh lemon juice, lemoncello, and champagne. So perfect for a Spring afternoon.

Oh yeah, and there was this chocolate cake:

  1. My two favorite parts of this post – Cash in the pond and the Positano. You’d thought I’d say the chocolate cake, didn’t you (well, I’m turning over a new leaf)?

Cash had such a fun day in Napa. And in the pond before we even left for Napa. Discovering the Positano was the highlight of the day for many of us. So refreshing and packs quite a punch! The cake was pretty amazing, though.
