Now that I am a 9-5er, I have to get used to getting lots done on the weekends. When you work from home it is easy to throw a load of laundry in the wash and get back to work. Not so much when you work 30 minutes away.
So, you may be wondering what my new job is? I am working at an advertising agency working in account planning and client services. I will be working as an account executive but also helping develop an account strategy program utilizing my research background and business development experience. My first day was yesterday and it went really well. Everyone is super nice, funny and very welcoming. I think I am going to like working with everyone. I got a run down on some projects I will be be working on and am excited to be involved in a wide variety of client projects.
One thing I am worried about working there is that these people love to eat! I am used to bringing my lunch to work for a variety of reasons. 1, it saves me money, 2) it is better for me and 3) I like to cook. The people in my office seem to eat out everyday. Plus there is candy everywhere! Hehe. I already told them I am going to get fat working there if I am not careful! I don’t want to be Debbie Downer who sits at her desk eating lunch everyday, but I gotta do what I gotta do. I also need to think of some good, healthy snacks to bring with me to the office. Any ideas?
Tomorrow I have a 13 mile run. I am getting close to a personal distance record territory. Next week will be the farthest I have ever run! Time to start getting serious about this marathon thing. My goals for today are:
- Grocery shopping
- Cleaning my room (I have a pile of clothes in the corner of my room)
- Yoga – I didn’t make it to Yoga in the Park this morning so I need to figure out something else.
- Work on some freelance and Girls on the Run stuff
